Student Services

At Atwell Primary School we believe it is essential to support the students across all areas of their schooling. A key component of this is fostering the development of the students’ health and wellbeing.

The Student Services Team works collaboratively with staff, families and outside agencies to support our students.  Please discuss with your child’s teacher if you have any concerns that you would like to discuss with the Student Services Team.

We have a Student Services Team that consists of:

  • Student Services Deputy: Claire Zappa

  • School Psychologist: Laura Edgeworth

The School Psychologist at Atwell Primary School provides a specialist psychological assessment, intervention and consultation service for the members of the Atwell Primary School community.

Referrals are made to the school psychologist through the Student Services Deputy Principals.

The School Psychologist provides support in three main areas:

  • Behaviour

  • Learning

  • Mental Health and Wellbeing

School Nurse

Community Health Nurses work in schools to promote healthy development and wellbeing so students may reach their full potential. A major part of their work is focused on early intervention and the School Entry Health Assessment program.

Community Health Nurses serve as a health contact point for children and their families, providing information, assessment, health counselling and referral. The services provided are free and confidential.

If you have a concern about your child’s health or development, please contact the school nurse via the school office or at the Community Health Base on 9314 0100.
