GroupOur ANZAC Ceremony has become a tradition at Atwell Primary School and congratulations go to the organisers and participants at this morning’s service.  It is is an opportunity for our students, staff and the wider community to remember the history of ANZAC Day and reflect upon the spirit of the ANZAC’s.

Special thanks to Mayor Logan Howlett, JP who was our special guest speaker and reflected on his own experiences at a cemetery in France, that is the final resting place for many of our fallen soldiers.  The imagery in his story gave us all a sense of how well respected and cared for the area is.

We would also like to thank our other invited guests Mr Phil Mort (former Principal) and Mrs Viv Mort, Mrs Sharyn Silverman (P&C President), Mrs Pat Howlett (City of Cockburn), Mr Malcolm Small (Cockburn RSL), Mr Josh Wilson MP (Member for Fremantle) and Mr Gary Dawson (Community member and Grandparent) for their involvement.

We congratulate the Atwell Primary School Choir for their beautiful singing, the school councillors for their speaking roles and the flag attendants for their important role in the service.
