Atwell Primary School Acknowledgement of Country

At Atwell Primary School, we acknowledge the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we learn and grow. We pay our deepest respects to their Elders past and present, and we extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in our community.

We recognise the deep spiritual and cultural connection the Whadjuk Noongar people have to this land, especially the Beeliar Wetlands, whose lakes and bushland have sustained and nurtured Noongar people for thousands of years. The wetlands are a place of significance, rich in stories, knowledge and traditions that continue to be shared today.

As we educate future generations on this land, we honour the wisdom and care that has protected it for generations, and we commit to respecting and learning from the First Nations peoples who continue to keep their culture strong.
